Dates are important in that they set points and allow us a long view back through time. But, the key to making this timeline swing is complementing those points with little bits of knowledge of which you are the primary keeper. Think about what should be included. Look over your photos and see which ones call to be shown and explained. Popping up new windows (CLICK THIS!) allows you to mix little stories or captions with those pictures. Sharing those stories and pictures will make this timeline not just a list of facts, but someplace worth revisiting. Come on, you're all fun people! Bust a move, vrai! So, how to do that? It's simple, here's how. Question #1: How do I submit material to the timeline? Answer: Really simple. Send entries to me in any of the following ways: Email: spoon@well.com Fax: 415-381-5639 Mail: 885
Autumn Lane Other questions: 415-381-5622 Question #2 : What format should the material be in? Answer: Really simple. Send the material in the following formats. Text: Email is the best. Try to keep your points brief but pungeant, like tangy chunks of loukaniko. Be sure to include the year for sure and the specific date if possible. If you don't have email, ask someone who does to send it for you. But, if all else fails, mail me a note at the above address. Photos: By email: By far the best way to send photos is by email as well. I have a cable connection, so size is not a big issue. JPG format is fine. GIF is fine too, though JPG is better. These are standard digital photo formats. The resolution should be set at 150 dpi, standard for the web. And watch the size. 480 pixels X 320 pixels is a good size for snaps. The biggest photo I have on the site is the 2001 Reunion photo and that's 957 pixels wide X 418 pixels high (72 pixels to an inch) so that's a big big one. By mail: You can also send photos by mail and I'll scan them. Enclose a stamped self-return envelope so they don't end up on my "Yup, gotta get to that sometime soon " pile which in reality is a bunch of piles that chase each other around when I'm not looking. That's it. Any other questions, send them to me at the above contacts. Thanks, -m |
